At the Marnie Knaak Music & Resilience Foundation (MKMRF), every note we play is about more than music — it’s about connection, healing, and hope.
Your support helps us create safe, welcoming spaces where kids and teens can feel safe, seen, and supported as they explore music, creativity, and community. In these moments, they discover new ways to express themselves, work together, and find strength through shared rhythm and sound.
🎶 Every gift — no matter the size — reminds a child that they’re not alone, that their story matters, and that hope can sound like a song.
Your Gift Creates Safe Spaces to Heal and Grow
Our Monthly Member Program is built on the belief that small, consistent acts of generosity create lasting change. By becoming a recurring donor, you’re helping the Marnie Knaak Music & Resilience Foundation (MKMRF) build a strong foundation— ensuring that every child who walks through our doors has access to the healing healing power of music, regardless of their ability to pay.
Your ongoing monthly gift provides the stability needed to grow trauma-informed music programs, support local youth, train instructors in resilience-based teaching, and expand outreach into communities that need it most.
Your ongoing monthly gift helps us:

Grow trauma-informed music program
Train instructors in resilience-based teaching
Support local youth and families
Expand outreach to communities that need it most
We offer several monthly giving options designed to fit every supporter’s heart and capacity. Whether you give $25 or $100, every contribution keeps the music playing and the mission alive — empowering children to find connection, confidence, and hope through every note.
MKMRF is the only trauma-informed music school in Central Texas
While there are many music-schools and lesson providers in Austin and surrounding areas, MKMRF stands apart by intentionally serving children and families impacted by trauma — offering free lessons and specialized programs with emotional and therapeutic supports built in.
Why Give to MKMRF?
Because our community needs more than traditional music lessons.
Typical costs in our region underscore the gap
Example: At the Austin School of Music, tuition for four 30-minute private lessons per month is $145.
In another Austin area music-school, weekly 30-minute lessons cost about $200/month (≈ $50/lesson) for group or private formats.
Many families with trauma histories, low income, or disrupted support systems cannot access or afford this level of consistent, high-quality music instruction.
This means for one child the cost of regular private lessons can easily run $1,500–$3,000 per year or more, excluding instrument purchase or therapy-informed enhancements.
Every child deserves to feel free, seen, and supported. At MKMRF, your gift unlocks healing through the power of joy. Your gift helps children recovering from trauma find safety, connection, and how — one note at a time.
At MKMRF: Free lessons + trauma-informed support
Because MKMRF is donor-supported and mission-driven:
Children who have experienced trauma can receive private lessons and group workshops at no cost to their families.
We integrate resilience-building, emotional literacy, therapeutic pedagogy, and connection-based teaching — not just technique.
Donor gifts directly fund what local fee-based programs do not provide: free access + healing-centered services.
Your gift changes more than a note — it changes a life
By donating to MKMRF you are:
Removing the income barrier so children from vulnerable situations can access music.
Supporting a model that integrates healing, creativity, and community — not just instruction.
Investing in a rare resource: the only trauma-informed music school in Central Texas committed to full access and emotional wellness.
