At The Marnie Knaak Music & Resilience Foundation, we believe music heals the invisible wounds of trauma and empowers families to thrive.

Trauma leaves more than memories—it affects the body, the nervous system, and our ability to connect. Traditional therapy is vital, but many survivors need additional ways to process and heal. That’s where music steps in.

  • Nonverbal Expression: When words are hard to find, rhythm and melody give emotions a safe outlet.

  • Regulation & Safety: Playing, singing, or even listening to music calms the nervous system, lowers stress hormones, and creates a sense of safety.

  • Connection: Group music-making fosters trust, teamwork, and a reminder that healing doesn’t have to happen alone.
